A Productive Day
Technical issues aside, I had a productive day today.
Working on my website as well as doing some well-overdue DIY, I ended the day upbeat. It always feels great to strike some items off the list.
Lists are something that I'm always very good at creating but poor at completing the tasks on them.
It Sounds Obvious
My methods have changed recently and I now make a point of creating the list just before I go to sleep then tackle the largest and least favourite item first thing in the morning. It is so true that eliminating the biggest task(s) first makes the rest of the items become a breeze.
Having listened to the audiobook of "Eat That Frog!" by Brian Tracy, I've realised the need to stop procrastinating and stop doing all the easy tasks first. I now put everything else aside until those big, annoying but important tasks are completed. Even if they take a few days!
It may sound like the most obvious thing to do, but when you are a serial procrastinator (like myself) common sense seems to be an afterthought and days can be wasted on issues that are not in the slightest bit important.
Trial & Error
Changing the subject ... with the ongoing virus situation still dominating everyday life, it is clear that the shops are now starting to adopt methods of social distancing. I think it is going to be trial and error as it seems the establishments and the public haven't quite got used to the idea of queuing and leaving a 2m gap.
Not only are we adopting the new queuing system, but we have also adopted a weekly appreciation for the NHS. It was very inspiring to hear the nation clapping and cheering. We will see how many weeks we can keep this up.
