Hysteria Starts To Grip

Misleading Information

Hysteria starts to grip in the wake of the coronavirus and there are reports that Ibuprofen could be a dangerous option when treating the symptoms of the virus. The reports were misleading but this does not stop people from worrying if they are already taking the medicine for other unrelated conditions. It isn't fair to those who are elderly and live alone and I can only hope that any other misleading information is removed, replaced, or corrected as soon as possible.

Socialising

I lost my father to cancer 5 years ago and this isolation has hit my mum particularly hard. She is living on her own and all of her local friends still have their partners. She is still in contact with everyone by phone but her generation is so much more social. Smartphones and hosting webinars will be beyond most of them.

Luckily, I had been getting my mum used to her smartphone and she has been able to call us using her camera. We have also been making a point of meeting her in her local park to say 'hi' even if it means being a few metres apart. The reason my wife and I have been particularly careful about catching the bug or passing it on is because my in-laws are living with us and are both in poor health.

Rich In Oil, Poor In Leadership

My in-laws have been through a really tough time which has only become worse in the last few years as a result of regime rule in Venezuela. All their hard work has amounted to nothing now that the country is in the grip of hyperinflation due to the socialist government's failure to invest in its infrastructure and an extremely heavy reliance on oil export. As has been the case for several years now, the price of oil has plummeted leaving Venezuela with a significant deficit on every barrel of oil sold. Since meeting my wife and learning about the issues experienced by her parents, it has been very important to me to help them whenever possible.

Supplementing Income

This is one of the reasons I looked into the possibility of setting up my own online business to supplement my income. I am determined to get them the retirement they deserve. The program I joined has made me realise that anything is possible if I have the desire and am committed to putting in the hard work.

I have always had an interest in anything artistic and creative. I wouldn't say that I am a particularly creative person but I have been thinking about trying video editing software to help make my videos more interesting and maybe more eye-catching. It was a baptism of fire with 'Final Cut Pro X' which had come with the purchase of my Apple Mac computer. My first attempt was only to glue two videos together but I still felt it was an achievement and gave myself a pat on the back.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing all the things the software can do so I knew I would not get stuck. As I get more familiar with the software I can let my creativity flow!
